PRETORIA, South Africa, May 28, 2018/ — A week-long Trade and Investment Mission to Kenya and Tanzania organised by Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) has yielded good leads for two South African companies and given others a chance to meet with potential investors and partners in the East African markets.
The Head of Business Development for the East African Region at Tractionel Enterprise, Mr Mawethu Ngubo said as specialists in electrical infrastructure on railways and substation, they have managed to put together an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) initiative in Kenya which will open a lot of doors for the company.
“The same thing happened in Tanzania with companies who are locally-based and already have a strong footprint in the market. In terms of selling the service, we are currently negotiating with the companies to be part of the sub-contractors for the overhead track electrification,” said Ngubo.
