The Creative Economy Practice at CcHUB is excited to host the fifth edition of its Creative Business Series (CBS). The Creative Business Series brings together stakeholders and aspiring players within the African creative economy, for conversations on trends in the sector.
Since its inception in January 2022, the Creative Business Series has brought together over 522 creative entrepreneurs and professionals from over 15 African countries for in-depth discussions about the challenges and opportunities within the African creative economy. Through the seminar series, the Creative Economy Practice at CcHUB has provided a platform for creatives to network, connect, and collaborate to build a stronger African creative ecosystem.
The Creative Business Series has featured notable speakers, including Dr. Bosun Tijani (Co-founder of Co-Creation Hub), Rimini Makama (Director, Xbox Global Expansion at Microsoft), Ibukun Abitoye (Executive Vice President of Chocolate City Music Group), and Natasha Kimani (Head of Partnerships and Research at Africa No Filter).
This edition themed The ‘How I’ Series, will be held as a physical event in two locations: Kenya and Nigeria.
The ‘How I’ Series is a fireside session where top creative business leaders share insights on how they were able to build their brands from the ground up, with helpful tips for aspiring and emerging creatives. A networking session will follow for creatives to connect and build strong networks.
Award-winning Actors and Producers, Nyokabi Macharia and Nice Githinji, both co-founders of ‘Shorts from Africa’, will also be speaking at the Nairobi Meetup. Macharia and Githinji will be sharing how they started their filmmaking careers and how they have successfully built their brands over the years.
