Each year the school’s performance in KCSE examination has improved

The Government of Japan has been providing funds to local non-profit organizations through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) since 1989. This year, the following organization is one of the few that has been selected to receive the grant.

Gesiaga Secondary School is a public school started in 1968. Each year the school’s performance in KCSE examination has improved. This has led to an increase in enrolment without enough standardized infrastructure, therefore causing congestion in existing dormitories.

With the objective of expansion of the boarding facilities to decongest and keep children away from congestion related diseases, the project received a grant amount of USD 89,952 (approx. Kshs 9 Million) which was used for the construction of 2 dormitories and installation of 86 double decker beds at the School. Additionally they will sign a new grant of USD18,095 (approx. Kshs. 1.8 Million) to be used for installation of septic tanks.
