In an effort to foster dialogue and raise awareness about critical healthcare issues in East Africa, the Informa Markets team – organisers of the Medic East Africa exhibition and conference hosted a Twitter Spaces conversation on the topic ‘Redefining healthcare across East Africa’. The dynamic and engaging virtual event, brought together experts and key stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities in healthcare delivery across the East African region.

The conversation comes ahead of the much-anticipated Medic East Africa Exhibition and Congress, co-located with Medlab East Africa that is scheduled to take place from 13th September 2023 to 15th September 2023 at the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya. The event promises to be a landmark event in the healthcare industry for East Africa.

Speaking about the event, Tom Coleman, the Exhibition Director at Informa Markets, noted that “Cutting-edge insights and best practices on healthcare excellence and public health such as cross-collaboration among healthcare professionals has enabled the cure of many diseases across the world. Public-private partnerships have also enabled communities to be able to access healthcare, especially in indigenous regions in Africa.”

Organisers are gearing up to deliver an insightful and impactful event that will address these pertinent issues and seek to define solutions that will bridge the healthcare gap in East Africa and beyond.

Healthcare in East Africa faces a unique set of challenges and opportunities. The region is characterised by a diverse landscape, varying levels of economic development, and a rapidly growing population.

“Efforts to improve access, expand infrastructure, address infectious diseases, and invest in healthcare technology are critical for the region’s continued progress in delivering quality healthcare to its diverse population. Collaboration between governments, NGOs, private sector entities, and international partners is key to achieving these goals and redefining healthcare in the region” Cynthia Makarutse, the Conference Director at Informa Markets added.

The exhibition promises to be a transformative event, bringing together the brightest minds in healthcare to drive innovation and progress in the region and will serve as a platform for thought-provoking conversations on a wide range of topics.

Everyone with an interest in healthcare, East Africa, or global health issues are highly encouraged to participate.  The event hashtag is #MedicEastAfrica to share insights, questions, and comments before, during, and after the event.
