Ride-hailing company Bolt has launched a ‘Trusted Contacts’ feature, allowing passengers and drivers to add friends or relatives as emergency contacts. This ensures Bolt’s Safety Team can escalate Ride Check notifications or Emergency Assist requests if the account holder is unreachable.
The feature is part of Bolt’s Sh14 billion safety investment over three years, complementing existing in-app safety tools such as Ride Check, Share Location, and Emergency Assist.
Bolt Kenya and Tanzania General Manager Dimmy Kanyankole stated, “This feature strengthens our commitment to safety by ensuring that in critical moments, a trusted person can be contacted when the account holder is unreachable.”
The move reinforces Bolt’s focus on passenger and driver security, ensuring a safer and more reliable ride-hailing experience.
