‘Safaricom Twaweza Live’ experience to positively impact customers and community’
Nairobi, Kenya – Safaricom (NSE: SCOM) held its first Mega concert dubbed Twaweza Live in Eldoret at the Eldoret Sports Club. This was the culmination of a 10 day activation in the Rift region that saw Safaricom engage with customers and do CSI activities.
Kenyan artistes that lined up performances include, Sweet Star, Josephat Koech, Mercy Masika, Vivian, Naiboi, Nyashinski and Redsan.
Twaweza Live is a 7-month long campaign that will see the company engage with communities across Kenya through free medical camps, campus takeovers, great device offers, talent search activities, youth mentorship programmes and music concerts.
“Twaweza live is not only about music but it is a campaign that will see us traverse all the regions of this country and establish legacy projects in each region that will change and positively impact the lives of the communities there,” said Sylvia Mulinge, Director- Consumer Business, Safaricom.
Over 15,000 people turned up following a series of Twaweza Live activities which included Local Talent auditions took place on 23rd of May at the Boma Inn. The local auditions at Boma Inn were held in search for a Deejay, hype master and musician. The selected winners performed at Safaricom Twaweza Live concert in Eldoret on Saturday.
The campaign will take place between May and November and will also focus on growing and nurturing local music talent by giving artistes a chance to perform in live concerts across the country. It will be characterized by six concerts that will kick off in Eldoret then move on to Meru, Machakos, Mombasa, Kisumu and Kisii.
