SBM Bank Kenya has launched the Busara Banking App, a new platform designed to help children learn saving, spending and financial responsibility.
The app allows parents to assign chores and link them to rewards or allowances, helping children earn and manage money in a supervised setting.
CEO Bhartesh Shah said the solution aims to build financial literacy early and support families in raising financially responsible children.
The platform also includes a prepaid multi-currency card powered by Mastercard, enabling secure digital payments under parental control.
Senior Vice President Shehryar Ali said the partnership highlights the role of technology in building financial confidence among young users.
The app integrates with SBM’s Mfukoni App, allowing parents to track activity, approve payments and guide financial learning.
The launch comes as the bank strengthens its digital strategy, following a return to profitability in 2025.
