Wilson Kipkorir Meli and Deborah Nyaboke of Joyland secondary school in Kisumu demonstrate their project to YSK Chairman and PS. Kevit Desai, Charge De Affairs at Irish Embassy Lisa Doherty and Safaricom Youth Segments Lead Angela Githuthu during the official launch of YSK boot camp at Moi Girls Nairobi.

BLAZE by Safaricom took up the platinum partnership for YSK and is the main sponsor underwriting costs of the project and ensuring its sustainability.

Out of the 72 projects presented during the National Science and Technology Exhibition in 2018, 22 projects were rated as the best and the students who came up with them won awards courtesy of BLAZE (school fees vouchers and mobile devices), as well as an opportunity to attend a business boot camp hosted by YSK 16th – 20th  February 2019.

During the boot camp, the students learnt about intellectual property rights, and were guided on how to turn their ideas into commercially viable businesses and careers.
