Customers across the country to enjoy a mix of live music performances, services and free medical camps

Safaricom (NSE: SCOM) today flagged off the Twaweza Live Experience, which will see the company interact with its over 29 million customers across the country over the next seven months.

The campaign, which was officially launched a week ago, is set to visit Rift, Central, Eastern, Coast, Nyanza, Western and Nairobi regions, delivering a mix of entertainment, product education, customer services, free medical camps and community projects.

“The Safaricom Twaweza Live Experience aims to solidify our connection with customers across the country. The campaign will take us closer to them and forms an important part of our strategic pillar of putting the customer first, which involves understanding their needs and making impactful investments in community projects that transform their lives,” said Charles Wanjohi, Acting Director of Consumer Business – Safaricom.

The roadshow caravan will spend ten days in each region, during which the company’s regional sales and operations teams will deliver services and great offers on devices right to customers’ doorsteps.

The campaign will also provide a platform for Kenyan musicians to showcase their talent through live music concerts, with a focus on growing and nurturing local music through talent searches and SKIZA boot camps. The boot camps, which target over 1,000 musicians, will among other things teach business and financial skills that will empower artists to turn their passion for music into profitable businesses.

In addition, the company will through the Safaricom Foundation, invest in six community projects selected by Kenyans in different regions over the seven-month period, and conduct free medical camps in partnership with the Kenya Diabetes Management and Information Centre and M-TIBA targeting over 12,000 people across Kenya.

The Safaricom Twaweza Live Experience will kick off in the Rift region with the opening of the company’s second retail shop in Nakuru town. This will be followed by a flag-off of the roadshow caravan, which will traverse Nakuru County before heading to Kericho and finally Eldoret, where Safaricom is partnering with iProcure to unveil a new Digifarm depot at Burnt Forest targeting thousands of farmers.

To close the first leg of the roadshow caravan, customers will be treated to a live music concert at the Eldoret Sports Club on 26th May featuring Naiboi, Vivian, Njugush, Redsan, Nyashinski, Mercy Masika, Sweet Star, DJ Joe Mfalme and DJ Malaika.
