Radisson Blu Hotel, Nairobi Upper Hill, has announced an
innovative partnership with Humming Bird Transport (HBT), a leading transport service
company specializing in guest mobility services. This partnership aims to advance sustainability
efforts within the hospitality industry and comes just ahead of World Environment Day on June
5.
As part of this initiative, Radisson Blu Hotel, Nairobi Upper Hill, will integrate 12 electric
vehicles into its existing fleet. This addition represents a significant step towards reducing carbon
emissions and promoting eco-friendly practices within the hotel’s operations.
Furthermore, the hotel has installed a dedicated charging station on its premises, providing
essential infrastructure to support electric vehicles and further bolstering sustainability
initiatives. The charging station will also be available for use by hotel guests later in the year.

transition towards eco-friendly transportation in the sub-Saharan hospitality landscape. With a

Speaking about the collaboration, Russel Storey, General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel,
Nairobi Upper Hill, expressed his excitement to partner with Humming Bird Transport in a
shared vision to promote sustainable mobility within the hospitality industry.

By adopting electric vehicles for guest transfers, Radisson Blu Hotel, Nairobi Upper Hill, has

emissions, resulting in cleaner air and a reduction in greenhouse gases. This eco-friendly
approach aligns with the country’s sustainability goals, making Kenya a frontrunner in green
transport in Africa.
Speaking during the launch, Martin Murungi, the Managing Director of Humming Bird

Radisson Blu Hotel, Nairobi Upper Hill, has a longstanding commitment to sustainability
through its Responsible Business initiative, which focuses on three key pillars: THINK People,
