NTT DATA, the global IT services provider, has underscored the critical role of digital transformation in enhancing public service delivery during the Smart Government Summit held in Nairobi.

Mr Richard Hechle, Managing Director for East Africa at NTT DATA, speaking on the final day of the summit, emphasised the need for the public sector to embrace digital technologies to create a more efficient, innovative and citizen-centric government.

In his address, titled “Embracing Digital Transformation in the Public Service”, Mr Hechle underscored the growing necessity for governments to adopt digital technologies to foster greater efficiency, innovation, and citizen engagement.

“As we navigate through the 21st century, the digital revolution is reshaping every aspect of our lives and the public sector is no exception,” said Hechle. “Digital transformation is about leveraging technology to create a more efficient, innovative, and citizen-centric public service that can meet the evolving needs of our society.”
