Global delivery firm Glovo has announced a new wave of strategic partnerships with local and international brands, a move aimed at expanding their market footprint within Kenya
The partnerships, signed with Java House Africa, Zucchini Greengrocers, On the way supermarkets and Naivas supermarkets will see them tap into strategic business fields in order to provide their service to their new clientele.
Speaking during the announcement of the partnership, William Benthall, Glovo’s General Manager for Kenya, said that the partnerships will greatly benefit consumers of Glovo’s service, enabling them to interact with their favourite brands at the tap of a button.
“Glovo is committed to providing our customers with any product from Nairobi within minutes. Today Glovo is launching partnerships with Naivas, Java House, and Onn The Way, adding these Nairobi institutions to the list of Nairobi’s best loved stores and restaurants that are already on the platform. Glovo is the only platform where consumers in Nairobi can access such a breadth of content within minutes and we are happy that the Glovo platform is helping our partners to access new customers who they may not have been able to access to date,” said Mr. Benthall. “In the long run these partnerships will help us achieve our broader strategy of being a single platform for all our customer’s needs and deliveries,” he added.
The partnership with Java House Africa will involve connecting customers to the nearest Java outlet enabling them to order right from the app and enjoy delivery in less than 45 minutes. Glovo´s partnership with Naivas and On The Way will see Glovo expand the reach of the supermarkets to online customers seeking the convenience of ordering from the comfort of their homes and workplaces, with delivery in minutes.
Since its entry into the Kenyan Market in January this year, Glovo has partnered with top brands and franchises like Simbisa Brands, (operators of Pizza Inn, Chicken Inn, Creamy Inn and Galitos). The App’s unique value proposition allows consumers to order virtually anything that can fit on the back of a bike for delivery. In Africa, Glovo currently operates in Kenya, Morocco, Egypt and Ivory Coast with plans to expand to Ghana, Nigeria and Tanzania.
