The Energy Regulatory Commission has begun inspection of buildings across the country for the compliance with solar water heating regulations 2012.
The regulations, which came into force in 2012, had given a five-year window to owners of buildings that consume more than 100 litres of hot water a day to install solar water heating systems.
With the ongoing inspection, those who will be found on the wrong side of the law risk jail time.
Fortunately, there are thousands of solar water heating companies in Kenya which are angling for a piece of the market share.
